How do I stop duplicate highlights when I clip the same page twice?

Short answer

Duplicates happen because the clipper sends every highlight on the page each time. Use a tool that remembers what each note already received. Lumen keeps a delivery ledger per destination, so a highlight is written once, no matter how often you sync or clip.

Step by step

  1. Keep highlighting the page as usual.
  2. Sync (or let auto send run).
  3. Only highlights the note has never received are appended.

Good to know

Technically, Lumen stores a row per highlight and destination pair; the database refuses a second delivery. Retries after an error are safe for the same reason.

Will deleting a highlight remove it from my note?

No. Notes are yours; Lumen only appends.
